Seaside Half Marathon + 5K

Race for a cause at the 2022 Seaside Half Marathon + 5K!

On February 18, 2022, the three-day, 20th annual race weekend will begin. It’s especially exciting to race in person once again after not hosting an in-person event in 2021. The Seaside School Half Marathon + 5K is a Seaside tradition and welcomes runners of all levels. The race is a fundraiser for the Seaside Schools Foundation, with 100% of funds raised supporting the Seaside Neighborhood School and Seacoast Collegiate High School. The Seaside Neighborhood School is a tuition-free public charter school that serves middle school students grades five through eight. The Seacoast Collegiate High school includes students from 9th through 12th grade. It offers opportunities for students to graduate high school with an Associate’s degree.

For the last two years, the charity event has brought in more than a half-million dollars each year to support these schools!

When speaking of this fun weekend that has become a tradition to many locals and visitors, Principal Kim Mixson of Seaside Neighborhood Schools said, “The fundraiser has become a part of our school culture, a stellar example of The Seaside Way in action. Our students, parents, and staff look forward to race weekend every year, and we are truly grateful for the impact that it has on our school.”

Want to participate? You can register here.

The registration fee for the 5K is $95, while the half marathon is $125. There are also a limited number of virtual spots available. All participants will receive a virtual swag bag and training program, a race shirt designed by Billie Gaffrey, a Vera Bradley® sling bag, a customized playlist, and a finisher medal.

The weekend extravaganza will begin in the evening on Friday, February 18, with the Taste of the Race pre-race party. The Taste of the Race features over 20 local chefs with delicious culinary delights. They are all competing for the Chef’s Choice Award and other awards. There’s no better way to kick off a fun race than with the best local food!

General admission for the Taste of the Race is $99. It includes access to sample cuisine from the chefs, complimentary wine and alcoholic drinks, and live music. If you’d prefer an even more incredible experience, check out Tom Glavine’s Taste of the Race Experience. The VIP Experience is $300, and ticket holders get to meet former baseball player Tom Glavine, have access to an exclusive entrance to the main event, enjoy tasty appetizers and refreshing drinks, and a special VIP goodie bag. General admission and VIP Experience tickets are non-refundable.

Following a fun-filled Friday night, runners can pick up their packets and explore the race Expo on Saturday, February 19. A silent auction will run from 11 am to 4 pm, with proceeds benefitting the Seaside Schools Foundation.

On Sunday, February 20, racers will finally get to lace up their running shoes. Both the half marathon and 5K are out-and-back courses that begin in Seaside. Whether you’ve signed up to get a new personal record or take a leisurely jog, each course offers a serene setting along Scenic 30A past coastal dune lakes that will enhance your experience.
