Tour guide services are offered through companies like Backwater Tours, Coldwater Excursions, Live Well 30A, WalCo Eco Tours, YOLO, 30A Airboat Adventures, Walton Outdoors, Into the Wild Eco Diversions, and Old Florida Outfitters. 30A eco-tours can cost as much as $100.00 or more per person, so you may want to budget accordingly.

Alternatively, you can go on self-guided eco tours in 30A Florida of the area’s best state parks and locations. Grayton Beach State Park is home to Western Lake, the Florida Panhandle’s second biggest coastal dune lake—a rare phenomenon unique to the Florida Panhandle, the Pacific Northwest, Madagascar, New Zealand, and Australia.

At these immersive parks, you can partake in activities like paddleboarding, wildlife watching, canoeing, kayaking, and even fishing. Fishing licenses can be purchased through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, both in person and online starting at as little as $27.00.

On coastal dune lakes, jet skis are forbidden, but motorized boats are allowed on all lakes—with the exception of Topsail Hill Preserve, which only allows kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards rented on-site at Campbell Lake. Many lakes are public property, but public access can be difficult to find. Oyster Lake, Western Lake, Deer Lake, and Camp Creek Lake all have public access.

The E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is located a short drive inland from 30A across Choctawhatchee Bay. Home to interactive exhibits, nature trails, and up-close encounters with local animals, this educational center is ideal for visitors of all ages. During the summer, the center is only open on Thursdays and Fridays, from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Prices range from $5.00 for children between the ages of three and twelve years and $8.00 for adults. Children two years and under are free.
