Mountainfilm On Tour in WaterColor

Movie night under the stars is back — and this year, it’s extra special. The 25th Annual Mountainfilm on Tour returns to WaterColor Marina Park Amphitheater on November 7–8, 2025, marking a quarter-century of world-class documentary films, community connection, and outdoor inspiration along Florida’s Emerald Coast.

A Tradition Rooted in Inspiration

Each fall, WaterColor transforms into an open-air theater, where film lovers and adventure seekers gather under a canopy of stars to experience stories that celebrate courage, culture, and conservation. The event is part of the acclaimed Mountainfilm Festival from Telluride, Colorado, bringing a curated collection of inspiring short films right here to 30A — set against the beautiful backdrop of Western Lake, longleaf pines, and a South Walton night sky.

Each block of films is hosted by a Mountainfilm presenter, who guides the audience through the evening’s program, offering behind-the-scenes insight into the stories and filmmakers who bring them to life. It’s not uncommon for a featured filmmaker to be on-site, sharing personal reflections that make the evening even more powerful. Together, the presenter and guests create an atmosphere that feels intimate, inspiring, and deeply connected to the spirit of exploration.

A Silver Anniversary Worth Celebrating

To mark 25 years of outdoor cinema magic, WaterColor is going all out. VIP tickets — which included a pre-show anniversary reception with live music, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a commemorative gift, and early lawn access — have already sold out. General admission tickets are still available, but seating is first-come, first-served, so early arrival is encouraged.

Each night will feature its own film playlist, highlighting stories of adventure, environmental stewardship, and the human condition. Expect to laugh, tear up, and walk away with a renewed appreciation for the world around you. Local bites, wine, and beer will be available for purchase, and guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or low-back chair (30 inches or less) for seating under the stars.

What to Know Before You Go

  • No outside food, beverages, or coolers are allowed inside the festival gates.
  • Pets are not permitted.
  • Adult language may be used in some films.
