Blue Mountain Beach Places to Eat

Blue Mountain Beach has gained a reputation for being a more relaxed, laid back, and quiet area of Scenic Highway 30A. This beach community is known for its towering sand dunes, which can be found covered in blue lupine, exciting ecology, a wide array of water activities, and diverse architecture. Furthermore, Blue Mountain has been a long time home to some of the area’s most popular restaurants and is becoming the new home to many more up and coming local eateries.

For the Health of It

This organic grocery and juicery has become a staple to locals and travelers because of its fresh produce and assortment of healthy goods. For the Health of It stocks national name brand and local products and offers the largest selection of organic foods in the area. Those with dietary restrictions and preferences will be delighted by this specialty shop with a comprehensive line of gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, soy-free, nut-free, paleo, and keto foods. Grab a smoothie from the tropical juice bar while you browse and get your body ready and filled with the nutrients it needs for a sun-filled day at the beach.

Red Fish Taco

We really don’t have enough nice things to say about this modest taco shop. The fish tacos are fresh, the street tacos are crispy, and the margaritas are the cherry on top. Menu items like shrimp and crawfish queso, grilled avocado topped with salsa, and churros set this place apart. Tucked into Redfish Village, the ambiance is casual and vibrant on the patio. They have a great happy hour ($2 tacos and $5 margaritas) and frequently feature live music showcasing local artists. Most importantly they fry their chips fresh to order- the true mark of a standout Mexican spot.

Johnny McTighe’s Irish Pub

This locals favorite is an Irish pub and bar serving up a variety of menu items at unbeatable prices. Don’t worry if fish and chips or corned beef and cabbage aren’t your things, they’ve got something on the menu for everybody: pizza, loaded hot dogs, a variety of sandwiches, and one mouth-watering Philly cheesesteak...plus tater tots! Johnny’s is a great place to grab a bite for lunch or stop in to watch the football game.

Blue Mabel Smokehouse and Provisions

Blue Mabel is the newest restaurant concept from the visionaries behind the popular 30A restaurant Cowgirl Kitchen (located in Rosemary Beach and Seagrove Beach). Serving classic Southern dishes with a sophisticated twist, Blue Mabel is quickly making a name for itself even though it’s been open for less than a year. This smokehouse is focused on farm to table ingredients, a memorable cocktail, and killer smoked meats. Blue Mabel also has a mean brunch menu including a bacon flight (bacon styled and flavored in a variety of flavorful preparations), beignets with miso caramel and bourbon chocolate, lemon ricotta pancakes, and shrimp and grits with andouille sausage. Oh, and don’t forget the freshly pressed mimosas!

Basmati’s Asian Cuisine

Open for both lunch and dinner, Basmati’s Asian Cuisine has been a long time favorite for those along 30A. Its intimate setting provides a lovely backdrop for a special night out, but the food is what truly makes this restaurant memorable. Fresh seafood and prime cuts of meat fused with traditional Asian flavors make up a unique menu with dishes like firecracker grouper and Chinese barbecue duck. Fun sushi rolls, nigiri, and premium maki are also offered, which is very rare to our area and part of what makes Basmati’s so popular. Make sure you finish the night off with their spiced banana spring rolls or a slice of the coconut cake, you won’t regret it.

La Loba’s Bakery

Cinnamon rolls, scones, brownies, cookies as big as your head, and banana nut bread are just a few of the drool-worthy pastries freshly baked up at La Loba’s daily. If you are planning on celebrating a special event or holiday while you’re in South Walton, La Loba’s also takes special orders for picture perfect cakes and cupcakes. Follow the smell of freshly baked treats wafting in the area and make your way in, you’re on vacation after all, you deserve a sweet treat.

Blue Mountain Beach Creamery

Nothing tastes quite as good as an ice cream cone on a hot day. You’ll know you’ve made it to the right place when you see the line winding down the street. Don’t worry though, the line moves fast, and the ice cream is worth the wait. This old time favorite has been a long time pillar in the Blue Mountain Beach community. Fun flavors like cappuccino crunch, blueberry cheesecake, banana pudding, and birthday batter can be found among the tried and true classics. Add a fresh baked waffle bowl and top it off with some sprinkles for a refreshing way to end a day at the beach.
