What to Know About Seagrove Beach
Seagrove got its name from the lush oaks, pines, and magnolias that can be found throughout the area, creating a shady and pleasant grove of tropical greenery. Within Seagrove, you and your guests will encounter pristine beaches, two rare and beautiful coastal dune lakes, and an awe-inspiring state park amongst the cafes and boutiques that characterize Seagrove.
Seagrove Beach itself is expansive and immaculately kept. Much of the beach is publicly accessible, though the dunes in some parts can be quite tall, meaning that you’ll have a few steps to go before you can reach the beach.
Other beaches you can enjoy in the area can be found in nearby parks, including Grayton Beach State Park and Deer Lake State Park. Inside of these parks are two coastal dune lakes: Western Lake, one of the largest lakes of its kind in South Walton, and Eastern Lake. These sites are ideal not only for beach days, but for hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and nature watching in the unique ecosystem of the coastal dunes and wetlands. Point Washington State Forest is also within a convenient distance.
In town, there are delicious eateries to sample and charming boutiques to explore. Dine on Seagrove’s finest cuisine at upscale restaurants like Surfing Deer, which specializes in New American seafood and wonderful views. 723 Whiskey Bravo has a luxe yet laid-back vibe, home to a breezy rooftop bar and a fire pit for a cozy atmosphere while you eat coastal dishes. Cowgirl Kitchen is a fantastic place to grab a gourmet breakfast, brunch, or lunch and a cocktail. And for something classic and hearty, head to Seagrove Village Market for a po’boy, burger, or fish basket.
Treat yourself to a gourmet popsicle from 30A Pop Stop afterwards, then walk off your meal while picking out a one-of-a-kind souvenir at Snappy Turtle On the Beach, The 30A Store, or Seagrove Plaza Shopping Mall.
